The Effingham Vision
To create an environment where junior golf can thrive by providing opportunities for youngsters of any age, gender or background to participate and develop their talents to whatever level they aspire. In support of this vision boys and girls will have the opportunity and are expected to actively participate in structured coaching sessions, Cadet and Junior competitions and Team matches when selected. Effingham Golf Club achieved GolfMark accreditation in November 2010.
Cadets
The Cadets section (typically 7- 12 years old) is designed to introduce boys and girls to golf. Cadets are expected to come to the Club for the pre planned group coaching sessions and roll ups as often as they can. The coaching sessions are designed to enable Cadets to progress through The Golf Foundation Junior Passport. They will meet and mix with others of the same age range and have access to the Club House. Once they are ready through achieving Level 5 of the Junior Golf Passport, they will be offered and expected to take up full Junior membership.
Juniors
Juniors (12 - 18 years old) are encouraged to attend coaching and roll up sessions and will learn that they will get as much out of the game as the effort they put in. As they develop their golfing skills they will be allocated a handicap and be encouraged to play in the Club Junior competitions as well as enjoying social golf with their friends. When they reach an acceptable level they will be able to enter Club competitions and learn the value of team spirit by representing their Club in matches against other Clubs. Juniors who play for the Club are provided with Effingham Team shirts. The Club also organises additional golfing activities during school holidays.
